We had our last meeting at the club house and plan to continue having them there. I was at the last Pro Bro for 30 minutes and went on over to Frank Artz place for some regular flying, so I was one of the members who didn’t contribute to the week ends success. We had a good turnout and some good flying that Saturday. I will be glad to contribute to the next Pro Bro if it includes things that the regular flyers may like. Jeff Pfiefer joined our club this year and Fred Ware is planning to.

Newsletter and meeting time are upon us again. I wanted to let everyone know that the Pro Bro event went well and all the pilots had a great time. On the Pro Bro web site, several have asked if we are interested in doing another Pro Bro event this fall. I’m sure the event didn’t go as well as we would have liked. From what I understand we made between $250.00 to $300.00. We had a fairly good turnout as far as flyers went, 16 I think. There was however very little support from the club in general. Thanks to those that did come out and support the club.
We need to start paying at least for the fuel to keep the field mowed. Maybe not many of you realize it, but Mike Proffitt has basically been taking care of mowing on his own for the last year and a half at no cost to the club what so ever. With the cost of fuel going crazy it is too much to ask for him to continue doing it all on his own. At the next meeting I will be proposing that at a minimum we pay for the fuel. He not only cuts our area but the entire runway as well.
Like this year, there will be very little money collected in dues unless we drastically increase membership. Many members paid several years in advance to get our building launched. We need to think ahead about the bills we will have for next year with the limited funds that we have now. I suggest at the next meeting that we establish a committee to develop a budget. The budget should be presented at our August meeting to determine what we have available to spend and what should be held in reserve to ensure our future.
We do need to get our building to a point were it is sealed from the weather, and usable for meetings this winter. It will require another maintenance day or two that we should think about getting them scheduled.
We need some participation in the worst sort of way, so I beg you to attend the next meeting. Hope to see you there.
